NC State Womens Soccer Defeats ETSU 2-0

The Wolfpack Women’s Soccer team defeated East Tennessee State yesterday afternoon 2-0 for their second straight win, and improved their overall record to 2-2.  Entering the game East Tennessee St. was 3-0.  RS Sophomore Jackie Stengel scored her 2nd goal of the season (11th of her career) on an assist from Freshman Maxine Blackwood.  Blackwood went on to grab a goal of her own as well.  Freshman goalie Sydney Wootten picked up her first career shutout in her second career start.  She has 12 saves this season, and hasn’t given up a goal in her 169:48 minutes of play.

To put things in perspective, NC State has already matched their win total of 2014 within the first 4 games of the season.  Last year the Wolfpack’s record was 2-15-2.

The Wolfpack will hit the pitch again this Friday at home against Oregon at 8pm as a part of the NC State Tournament.
