“Yesterday the Falcons announced that LB Terrell Manning was going to be waived, but that transaction was never sent into the League Office. Manning will remain on the active roster and the Falcons currently sit at 76 players. Atlanta must be at the 75-man roster limit by tomorrow at 4 p.m.” (Falcons)
It isn’t completely clear what is going on here. Sometimes a team will intentionally hold onto a player after announcing that he will be waived so that they can trade him. That doesn’t seem to be likely here. As it stands, Manning still sits on the roster of the Falcons. Manning signed a free agent deal with the Falcons on August 17th. The Green Bay Packers drafted Manning in the 5th round of the 2012 NFL Draft with the 163rd overall pick.
T.J. Graham
Former NC State Wide Receiver T.J. Graham also received news that he was 1 of 12 players being released from the New York Jets on Sunday. Graham played in 12 games for the Jets last season, catching three passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Over the past 3 years, Graham has played in 43 NFL game for the Bills and the Jets accumulating 57 catches for 770 yards. Graham was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Bills with the 69th overall pick.
Brandan Bishop
On August 24th, former NC State Safety Brandan Bishop was signed by the Eagles to fill a void they created by waiving another former NC State Safety Earl Wolff. On Sunday, Bishop was 1 of 12 players cut from the Eagles.
