This morning NC State announced their 4 captains for Saturday’s season opener versus Troy.  Jacoby Brissett and Quinton Schooley are both Seniors and Hakim Jones and Mike Rose have already graduated.  All four of these players are on the Wolfpack’s Leadership Council.

Jacoby Brissett

Jacoby Brissett had one of the best single seasons of any quarterback in NC State history.  He had 2,606 passing yards (10th), 23 touchdowns (7th), and a 136.7 passing efficiency rating (5th).  Brissett is one of 8 quarterbacks in the past 5 years to pass for 2,000+ yards, rush for 300+ yards, throw 20+ touchdowns and 5 or less interceptions in a season.  What no one really talks about because he is a Senior, is that he did all of that as a first year full-time starter.  Brissett is the starting Quarterback.

Hakim Jones

RS Graduate Free Safety Hakim Jones has played in every single game that he has ever suited up for at NC State.  His 38 games played ties Juston Burris and Mike Rose for the most on the team.  Jones has also started 15 straight games.  Last year he led the Wolfpack with 80 tackles.  Hakim Jones is the Wolfpack’s starting Free Safety.

Mike Rose

The veteran of the line, Mike Rose, had 15 tackles for loss last year, which was good for 3rd in the ACC, and the 11th best single season total in NC State history.  His 38 games played is tied with Juston Burris and Hakim Jones for the most career games played on the team.  Rose earned his undergraduate degree in May.  Rose is one of the starting Defensive Ends.

Quinton Schooley

Schooley has played every offensive snap in 20 of his 25 career games with the Wolfpack.  He had played more snaps than any other member of the Wolfpack squad before exiting the UNC game early with an ankle injury.  Schooley earned the team’s Bo Rein Award last year, which is given to a member of a team who provides a vital contribution in an unsung role.  Schooley is the starting Center.
