NC State Men’s Tennis Releases Schedule

NC State Men’s Tennis Head Coach Jon Choboy released the 2015 Fall schedule today.  The Wolfpack were 15-12 (5-7)  last season, and finished the season 9th in the ACC.  They went to their 4th straight NCAA tournament, and helped contribute 25 points to the school’s Directors’ Cup Standings.

RALEIGH, N.C. – Seven events in the state of North Carolina highlight the 2015 NC State tennis fall schedule, announced on Monday by head coach Jon Choboy.

The Wolfpack will open the season on Sept. 13 at the Cary ATP Challenger. The following weekend, individuals will compete at the Duke Fab Four and the UVa Ranked Plus One tournaments from Sept. 18-20.

On October 2rd, select members of the team will head to Elon, N.C. for the Elon Invitational, which coincides with the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., and the USTA Mansfield Pro Circuit in Mansfield, Texas, on Oct. 3-11.

At last year’s ITA All-American Championships, both Nick Horton and Thomas Weigel advanced out of the pre-qualifying round into the qualifying draw, while Austin Powell and the doubles team of Ian Dempster and Robbie Mudge competed in main draw action.

The following weekend, the Pack will return to Cary for the ITA Carolina Regional Championships on Oct. 15-19. NC State will aim to repeat as doubles champions after Dempster and Mudge won the regional doubles competition to earn a spot at the ITA National Indoor Championships in 2014.

The Wolfpack will host the NC State Invite on Oct. 23-25, before making trips to Wilmington, N.C. for the UNCW Invite on Oct. 30-Nov. 1 and Winston-Salem, N.C. for the Wake Forest Invite on Nov. 6-8.

The team will wrap up the fall season on Nov. 12-15, as individuals from the team will compete at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., and the Alabama Invite in Birmingham, Ala.
