Christian Brooks Wants to Visit NC State

NC State offered 3-star 2016 Defensive End Christian Brooks back on August 26th.  I caught up with Brooks recently to hear how it went down, and to find out where NC State stands amongst the other offers.

“It all started when I visited camp.  They started talking to me toward the end of my Junior year.  We have kept in touch a lot.  I went to one of their camps and did really well, and they brought me up to one of the coaches offices and talked to me for about an hour.  They told me they couldn’t give me an offer yet, because they were also looking at other prospects.  Then a couple of months later, here I am receiving an offer.  I talked to three of their coaches when they offered, including Coach Doeren.”

The Wolfpack offer meant a lot to Brooks, citing it as “one of my top offers for sure.”

“I love their football program and their academics,” said Brooks. “I’m interested in their computer science program.  I definitely want to take an official visit there.

Brooks was tentative to nail down a Top-5 list at this point, though he thought that could be solidified in the next week or so.  He did say that there were 4 schools that he was most interested in visiting at this point.

“California, NC State, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh are the four schools I’m most interested in visiting right now.” said Brooks.

Back on July 30th, Brooks told the Washington Post that distance was a factor for him, but since then he has changed his thinking.

“At first distance was a factor for me, but then I’ve realized that I have to grow up and leave my family eventually,” said Brooks. “Distance isn’t a factor for me anymore.”
