Here’s our VIDEO of QB Jacoby Brissett talking to the media after NC State’s 49-21 victory over Troy in the season opener tonight.

Quotes

“For the first game I thought we came out and played really well. We’ve got a lot of things to work on, but the offense of line came out and played a heckuva game. They controlled the line of scrimmage, and that is what we asked of them this week. They set the tone for us in the game, and really opened up a lot for us in the passing game. We just took what they gave us.”

“We had a couple of busts on a couple of formations, which we will try to get cleaned up.”

On the balanced offense…

“It’s the amount of a weapons we have. The style of game we play is very versatile. It suits our athletes well. Anytime we can get some of those players out in space with the ball in their hands, it’s liable for big things to happen.”

On Jaylen Samuels…

“Anything you ask from him, he does 110%. Anytime you want a little completion or a touchdown, you just give him the ball and see what he does with it.”

On Matt Dayes…

“Oh my gosh. I can’t even put it into words. Some of the stuff that he did today, I got caught watching sometimes. The offense of line did a good job opening holes for him, and he did a good job when nothing was there, and just making something happen. I can’t even put into words what I was watching.”

Did he realize his first incompletion was a throw away…

“No. I wasn’t keeping track. One of our backups Josh was telling me about it. He told me about it in the first quarter, and then I forgot about it. Then he came up to me and asked ‘why did you throw it away? That was your first incompletion.’

On missing the deep ball to Ramos…

“I’ve got to have that one. He was open enough for me to put it in there.
