Mark Gottfried Recruiting with a Helicopter

Published

on

The FayObserver’s Bret Strelow reported earlier today that NC State is pulling out all of the stops in their pursuit of 2016 Top 10 players point guard Dennis Smith Jr. and power forward Bam Adebayo.  Some players receive direct messages on Twitter.  Others receiver fancy pictures in the mail with the jersey of the school photoshopped on them.  Then players like Dennis and Bam have NC State sending head coach Mark Gottfried to their schools in a helicopter.

According to my source, the helicopter ride won’t cost the Wolfpack a dime.  The helicopter is owned by an NC State booster who donates the flights.

Nearly everyone agrees that NC State currently stands as the leader for both of these program changers.  It looks to me like Gottfried wants to do all that he can to get an early commitment out of the duo, so that he can build a class around them.
