NC State offered 5-star (ESPN) 2017 combo guard Devontae Shuler yesterday who will be playing this year at Oak Hill Academy.

Oak Hill Head Coach Steve Smith reported that the Wolfpack coaches were on campus yesterday watching the players workout.

While ESPN gives Shuler 5-stars, 247, Scout and Rivals give him 4.  ESPN rates him as the #29 overall player in the 2017 class, and 247 ranks him 36th.  He also holds offers from Clemson, South Carolina, Wake Forest, and others.  Shuler is from Columbia, South Carolina, and played for Irmo High School the past two seasons before transferring to Oak Hill.  He plays AAU for the South Carolina Hornets, which isn’t affiliated with a particular shoe company, leading Shuler to fly under the radar.  Shoe company or not, Shuler had one of the biggest summers of any player in the 2017 class.
