Scout Ranks NC State’s 2016 Class 12th

Scout released their updated 2016 college basketball team rankings today, and with the commitment of Dennis Smith Jr., NC State has jumped to the #12 spot.  It’s not very often that a 1-player recruiting class can crack the Top-15, but when that one player is the #8 overall player in the class, it’s a different story.  Here is what Evan Daniels had to say about the Wolfpack’s one-man class:

It’s only one commit, but its certainly a big one. Dennis Smith is an elite point guard prospect because of his size, athleticism, speed, scoring and playmaking ability. N.C. State has also targeted his AAU teammate and top 10 player Edrice Adebayo. (Scout)

Here’s a rundown of the rest of the ACC teams that are currently ranked in the Top 25:

1) Duke – SF Jayson Tatum (#3) & PG Frank Jackson (#17)
4) Florida St. –  SF Jonathan Isaac (#9), SG Trent Forrest (#92), PG C.J. Walker (#NR)
6) Virginia –  PG Ty Jerome (#51), SG Kyle Guy (#52), PF Jay Huff (#87), SF DeAndre Hunter (#NR)
9) Syracuse –  SF Tyus Battle (#24), PF Matthew Moyer (#74)
12) NC State – PG Dennis Smith (#8)
15) Louisville – SF V.J. King (#21)
20) UNC – C Tony Bradley (#31)
