Here’s the NC State NFL Report for Week 2 of the NFL season.  Below we breakdown the performance of each of the former Wolfpack players in the NFL.

Quarterback

Philip Rivers was 21 of 27 for 241 yards and 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in the Chargers 24-29 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.  His QB Rating for the day was an impressive 113.1.  His first touchdown throw of the game was his 255th, passing Doug Fouts as the Chargers all-time leader in touchdown passes.  Rivers’ completion streak ended against the Bengals, completing 22 consecutive pass attempts.

Season Stats: 645 passing yards, 81.2%, 4 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, QB Rating 106.8

Russell Wilson completed 19 of 30 passes with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in Seattle’s 27-17 loss to Green Bay on Sunday.  Wilson also rushed 10 times for 78 yards.  His QB rating for the game was 74.8.  This marks the first time that the Seahawks have suffered a 10-point loss since Wilson took over the quarterback position 58 games ago.

Season Stats:  457 passing yards, 71.8%, 3 touchdowns, 2 interceptions 91.1 QB Rating, 109 rushing yards, 6.1 yards per carry.

Mike Glennon didn’t play in the Bucs 26-19 victory over the Saints.

Wide Receiver 

Jerricho Cotchery had 1 reception for 11 yards in the Panthers 24-17 victory over the Texans before being carted off of the field with a high ankle sprain.  Despite the fact that some players miss up to 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain, Cotchery managed to go back into the game, before leaving again because it kept bothering him.  The Panthers are hopeful he will be back for Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Season Stats: 5 receptions, 56 yards, 1 touchdown

Kicker

Steven Hauschka kicked a 54-yard field goal and 2 PAT’s in Sunday’s 27-17 loss to the Packers.

Season Stats: 4/4 field goals (2 20-29/1 30-39, 1 50-59), 4/4 PAT’s, 16 points

Defensive Line

Defensive End Mario Williams had 3 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 QB hits in the Bills 40-32 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.  ProFootballFocus rated Williams as the lowest rated 4-3 Defensive End in Week 2.

Season Stats: 3 tackles, 1 sack, 2 QB hits

Defensive Tackle T.Y. McGill didn’t play in the Colts 20-7 loss to the Jets last night.  He was listed as inactive.

Defensive Tackle Markus Kuhn was inactive in the Giants 24-20 loss to the Falcons due to a knee injury.

Season Stats: 1 tackle, 1 tackle for loss

Linebacker

Stephen Tulloch had 6 tackles in the Lions 26-16 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.

Season Stats: 12 tackles

Manny Lawson had 2 tackles in the Bills 40-32 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.  Lawson has started both games this season.

Season Stats: 3 tackles

Willie Young had one tackle in the Bears 48-23 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.

Season Stats: 2 tackles

Audie Cole had 1 tackle in the Vikings 26-16 victory over the Lions on Sunday.

Season Stats: 1 tackles

Nate Irving didn’t play in the Colts 20-7 loss to the Jets last night.  He was listed as inactive.

Defensive Back

Cornerback Dontae Johnson had 1 tackle in the 49ers 43-18 loss to the Steelers on Sunday.

Season Stats: 3 tackles.

Offensive Line

Guard JR Sweezy started at Offensive Guard for the Seattle Seahawks in their 27-17 loss to the Packers on Sunday.  He was injured in the game, and his status is unknown at this point.

Guard Ted Larsen started in the Cardinals 48-23 victory over the Bears on Sunday.  Larsen has started both games this season.
