Carlos Rodon Likely Finishes on High Note

There is a good chance that tonight was Carlos Rodon’s last start of his rookie season, and if it was, the former NC State pitcher went out on a high note.  Rodon faced the Yankees, and he had a much better result than the last time he faced them.  Back on July 31st, the boys in pinstripes hit up Rodon for 8 runs in 3 innings.  Tonight revenge was sweet, and Rodon pitched a quality start against the Yankees, which happened to be his 8th straight.  Rodon gave up 2 earned runs over 6 innings, while striking out 4.  On August 5th Rodon’s ERA sat at 5.00, and if this was truly his final start of the season, he finished the year with a 3.75.

Here are Rodon’s numbers over his final 8 starts (8 consecutive Quality Starts):

1.81 ERA, 54.2 IP, 38 Hits, 49/21 K/BB, .198 OPP BA

Rodon’s rookie record stands at 9-6, and he won his final 3 starts.  He made Wolfpack Nation proud this year and gave the White Sox a lot to look forward to in 2016.
