On deciding to come back…

“I talked to coach about it.  We sat down and talked with my mom and my family about it, and I felt like I needed to come back for another year, and he also felt like that.  We are going to see how this year plays out.”

On what he needed to work on…

“I wasn’t shooting the ball as well as I know I can.  I felt like if I stayed another year, and got back in the gym and worked on my jump shot, my stock would go higher.”

On working on his 3-point shot…

“A lot of guys played back on me because they didn’t want me to go to the rim, but if they do that this year I’m going to shoot the ball, and it’s going to go in.”

On Gottfried telling him to just be Cat… 

“When a coach tells you to just be you, it’s always an honor that he wants you to be you.  I felt like he wanted me to score the ball more and do more for our team.  Once he said that, it clicked in my head that you have to do what Cat know how to do, and that means score the ball, as well as being a leader and a point guard.”

On having lockdown defenders on the perimeter…

“Our defense on the perimeter…Cody, Caleb, and Terry…they’re long and get a lot of deflections.  Once we do that we can get out and run more.  With our perimeter defense I think we can get out and score more.”
