On the benefit of arriving early…

“I moved up here June 21st.  I took summer classes here.  It helped me a lot.  It helped me get ahead with school work and helped me get used to what how the classes would be.  I learned my way around campus.  That helped out a lot.”

On getting to know the players over the summer…

“They were around a lot.  We had summer workouts.  I saw them everyday and I got to know them better.  I got to see what each one of them was like.  It turns out all of them are really good people and good teammates.”

BeeJay Anya said that He and Shaun Kirk have to carry stuff…

“No.  That’s definitely wrong.  I carry nothing.  Maybe Maverick, but I don’t carry anything.”

BeeJay also said that they take the nice shoes…

“They do.  But I lucked out and Chase let me keep a nice pair.  That was a good thing for me.”

On Maverick getting a lot of attention from the upperclassmen…

“I got all mine out of the way during the summer, because I had to spend that time with them.  Maverick, it’s a hard time for him right now.  It’s all fun and games, but it’s just so funny.”

Who leads the charge in giving them a hard time?

“BeeJay.  BeeJay Anya.  The main one.  Him and Lennard…those guys…I don’t even know.  They are always giving him a hard time.”

On what it’s like living with the other guys…

“We mainly just relax, play the game, just listen to music all day, and have fun conversations I guess.”
