NC State & Friday Night Lights

NC State travels to Virginia Tech this Friday night which will be the 37th time they have played on Friday.  Since the start of ACC play back in 1953, the Wolfpack have only played 12 Friday night games and have a record of 5-6-1.  In those 5 wins, two of them were bowl games as the Pack beat West Virginia in the 1972 Peach Bowl and beat Southern Miss in the 1990 All-American Bowl.

Friday night conference games have been a rarity for the Wolfpack.  The last ACC matchup to fall on a Friday night was back in 1995 and the Wolfpack lost to UNC 30-28, the Friday after Thanksgiving.  The Thanksgiving spirit left Wolfpack fans a mere day after the holiday.  The last game that NC State had on Friday was in the 2012 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff game.  NC State lost the game behind 4 Mike Glennon interceptions.

The Wolfpack will look to improve that 5-6-1 record this Friday at 8 o’clock on ESPN.
