NC State Captains for Virginia Tech

For the 2nd time this season, all four of NC State’s captains for Friday night’s contest against Virginia Tech have already graduated: GR-Senior Left Tackle Joe Thuney, GR-Senior Defensive End Mike Rose, GR-Senior Safety Hakim Jones, and GR-Senior Left Guard Alex Barr.

Alex Barr is back in the starting lineup after missing the past three games due to a knee sprain.  The Offensive Line struggled against Louisville, so Barr’s return is a big boost.

Hakim Jones is 5th on the team in tackles, with 17 and 2 tackles for loss through 5 games.  He led the Wolfpack in tackles against Eastern Kentucky with 5.

Mike Rose is also tied for 5th on the team in tackles with 17.  He also has 5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 1 pass breakup and 2 Quarterback hurries.  He led NC State in tackles for loss against Old Dominion with 1.5.

Joe Thuney was named the ACC Lineman of the week after his performance against South Alabama, after grading out at 92%.  He didn’t miss an assignment or allow a sack in the contest.
