NC State Looks To Keep Streak Alive

Published

on

Ever since he was hired, NC State coach Dave Doeren has emphasized that he wants to build a team that can consistently win on the road.  It would appear that the emphasis has paid off as NC State has won each of the past 5 games played away from home.  Whether it be the clutch comeback win at Syracuse to start the streak last year, or the dominating victory at South Alabama, the Pack is simply finding a way to win on the road.

The last time NC State was able to win at least five in a row on the road was over a stretch of games in the 1973-1974 seasons.  The feat was also accomplished over the 1962-1963 seasons.

The next longest streak in school history actually occurred during the 1957-1958 seasons, when the Pack one an astounding 8 road games in a row.

The Next Best In School History

9/21/57 @ UNC (7-0)
9/28/57 @ Maryland (48-13)
10/05/57 @ Clemson (13-7)
10/12/57 @ FSU (7-0)
11/6/57 Neutral Field Va Tech (12-0)
11/23/57 @ USC (29-26)
10/04/58 @ UVA (26-14)

Will The Streak Continue?

NC State looks to extend the streak as they head to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech this Friday @ 8:00 PM.  Though currently an underdog, the Pack has a good shot at extending the streak if they can put the poor Louisville performance behind them.
