Rivers Rewrites Record Book

Published

on

Philip Rivers continues to prove that he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and this Sunday was a great testament to that.  The Chargers fell short on the comeback effort but Rivers was outstanding as he completed 43-65 for 503 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Rivers set the San Diego Chargers franchise record for completed passes and passing yards in a single game, as well as passing attempts.  Even though it was a historic day for Rivers, I am confident that he is more concerned about losing.  The Chargers came up just short, as they couldn’t punch the ball in for a touchdown to tie the game in the waning seconds.

Even though Rivers was on the wrong side of the result it should be noted that he was the reason that the Chargers even had a shot to win this game as he was masterful in getting the ball out quickly.  He also showed great movement in the pocket to create passing lanes. Philip Rivers now finds himself third in the NFL in passing yards, as he has now thrown for 1,613 yards, all while completing 71.3 percent of his passes.  Rivers will look for a win next week as he squares off against the Oakland Raiders.

He would have done better just playing out his last season and then signing with a team like Buffalo. Or forcing a trade by sitting out. Hate to see him in his twilight years just getting blasted and not getting a ring. He’s getting sacked so many times a game it’ll be a miracle if he’s still playing at the end of the season. Even the fans in San Diego are coming to realize… Read more »
