NC State NFL Report: Week 6

Here’s the NC State NFL Report for Week 6 of the NFL season.  Below we breakdown the performance of each of the former Wolfpack players in the NFL.

Quarterback

Philip Rivers set the Chargers single season record for attempts, completions, and passing yards on Sunday.  He was 43 of 65 for 503 yards with 2 touchdowns in San Diego’s 27-20 loss to the Packers.  Rivers’ QB rating was 99.7.  Sadly, he is now the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for 500 yards with no interceptions and lose.

Season Stats: 2,116 passing yards, 70%, 12 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 102.8 QB Rating

Russell Wilson was 18 of 30 for 241 yards and 1 touchdown in the Seahawks 27-24 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.  His QB Rating was 96.7.  Wilson also rushed 8 times for 53 yards.

Season Stats: 1,433 passing yards, 68.9%, 7 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 98.7 QB Rating, 251 rushing yards, 5.6 yards per carry

Linebacker

Stephen Tulloch led the Lions with 13 tackles in their 37-34 victory over the Bears.

Season Stats: 48 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 fumble recovery

Audie Cole saw action as a reserve in the Vikings 16-10 victory over the Chiefs, but failed to record any stats.

Season Stats: 1 Tackle

Manny Lawson had his best game of the season on Sunday, recording 8 tackles (1 TFL) in the Bills 34-21 loss to the Bengals.

Season Stats: 15 tackles and 1 tackle for loss

Willie Young started for the second straight game, but didn’t record any stats in the Bears 37-34 loss to the Lions.

Season Stats: 3 tackles, 1 sack

Nate Irving didn’t play in the Colt’s 34-27 loss to the Patriots on Sunday night because of his knee.

Kicker

Steven Hauschka connected on all 3 of his field goal attempts (30, 43, 50) in Sunday’s 27-24 loss to the Panthers.  He also connected on both of his PAT attempts.

Season Stats: 14/14 FG, 12/12 PAT, 54 points

Defensive Line

Mario Williams had 1 tackle in the Bills 34-21 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.  He expressed frustration with the way he is being used in this new scheme, claiming that he set a record for dropping into coverage on Sunday.

Season Stats: 11 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss

Wide Receiver

Jerricho Cotchery returned from his ankle injury, and had 2 receptions for 21 yards in the Panthers 27-23 victory over the Seahawks.

Season Stats: 7 receptions, 77 yards, 1 touchdown

Defensive Back

Dontae Johnson had 2 tackles in the 49ers 25-20 victory over the Ravens on Sunday.

Season Stats: 8 tackles and 2 pass deflections

Offensive Line

G J.R. Sweezy has started in all 6 games for the Seahawks this season.

G Ted Larsen was active on Sunday, but didn’t see any action in the Cardinals 25-13 loss to the Steelers.
