Lorenzo Brown Waived by T-Wolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves waived former NC State point guard Lorenzo Brown on Saturday.

Brown played exceptionally well for the Timberwolves in the Summer League, averaging 14.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in Las Vegas in July.  With Ricky Rubio, Tyus Jones, Zach Levine and Andre Miler locked into contracts, Brown was the odd man out with his partially guaranteed contract.  Brown has played in 55 games for the 76ers and Timberwolves over the past two seasons.  Even though Grand Rapids has the D-League rights to Brown, it wouldn’t be shocking to see another NBA team scoop him up soon.

Brown only played 3 seasons at NC State, but he still managed to finish his career in the Top-10 in school history in a couple different statistical categories.  His 589 assists rank 3rd, his 1.94 Assist/Turnover Ratio ranks 6th, and his 172 steals ranks 7th.  Zo led NC State in assists all three seasons that he played, and led the ACC in 2012-13.  In 2012 Brown earned 3rd Team All-ACC honors, and in 2013 he was put on the 2nd Team.

Keep your head up Zo!  We’ll be watching you in the league again soon.

Someone will pick him up. He’s definitely backup PG material and on some teams could start at PG. Would love to see the Suns grab him and play him alongside TJ.
