NC State 35 Wake Forest 17: Defensive Notes

Here are some defensive notes from NC State’s 35-17 victory over Wake Forest this past Saturday.

  • DT B.J. Hill led the team with 6 tackles, marking the third time he has done so this season.
  • NC State tallied a season high 7 sacks.
  • Mike Rose recorded 3 sacks in a single game for the first time in his career.
  • The Wolfpack posted a season-high of 11 tackles for loss.
  • After allowing Virginia Tech and Louisville run all over them (5.6 ypc & 4.5 ypc), the Wolfpack held Wake Forest to 3.9 yards per carry.
  • The NC State defense held Wake Forest to 4.0 yards per play, which is the lowest since they held South Alabama to 3.4 yards per play.
  • Bra’Lon Cherry’s 52-yard punt return for a TD was NC State’s since Rashard Smith had one at Duke in 2013.
