NC State 35 Wake Forest 17: Offensive Notes

Here are some offensive notes from NC State’s 35-17 victory over Wake Forest this past Saturday.

  • Maurice Trowell and Nyheim Hines both caught their first collegiate touchdowns (59 yards & 58 yards respectively).
  • Matt Dayes’ 85-yard touchdown run was the longest rush of his career, and the 5th longest in NC State history.
  • NC State is the only FBS school in the last 10 seasons to score four 50-yard touchdowns in 1 quarter.
  • NC State’s 35 points is the most the Wolfpack has scored at Wake Forest since they dropped 52 on them back in 1995.
  • Matt Dayes became the sixth running back in NC State history to rush for 200+ yards (205).  The last player to do so was Andre Brown in 2005 against Southern Miss (248).
  • Nyheim Hines and Maurice Trowell also set career highs in receiving yards (68 & 87).
  • Jaylen Samuels had seven receptions on Saturday, which was a career high.
  • NC State’s 475 yards of Total Offense is the most against an ACC opponent since they put up 520 yards on FSU last season.
