NC State’s History in the ACC Preseason Poll

NC State was picked to finish 8th in the ACC at Media Day yesterday down in Charlotte, but how accurate has the preseason poll been in predicting the Wolfpack over the years?

The ACC media has underestimated NC State in the preseason poll 20 times, overrated them 18 times, and been right on the nose 8 times.

Mark Gottfried’s teams average finish in the final ACC standings is 5.25, and their average preseason ranking has been 7th.  The media has underrated Gottfried’s squad 3 out of his 4 years.
