Dave Doeren: Talks Belk Bowl
NC State’s Dave Doeren met with the media yesterday to talk about the upcoming bowl game against Mississippi State and the off-season. Some of the hot topics included Kentavius Street being listed at defensive end, Reggie Gallaspy’s progression, the upcoming season, and how the Pack will look. One area that he signaled out was the offensive line as they are losing three seniors after the bowl game. He said these extra bowl game practices have been excellent for his players, especially the guys who will have a more prominent role next season.
He also spoke highly of his QB in waiting Jalan McClendon and his ability to throw the ball as well as his electric personality with his teammates, but he was quick to add that he must develop game time situations that only come through experience.
One question that Doeren was asked was who he would compare Dak Prescott to. Doeren goes on to compare him physcially to Tim Tebow, but added that he is an excellent passer in addition to his running abilities.
On a non-football note he touched bases on some of the activities that the Belk Bowl have planned for his team, on the agenda is a service project, and a visit to Lowes Motor Speedway. When asked if he has been in a race car, he said, “yes and that he would like to get behind the wheel again.” NC State will take the field on the 30th at 3:30PM, the game will be televised on ESPN.
