NC State Football Giving Back Day 3

Sure NC State may not of reached the heights that many fans wanted to see this season on the football field, but it is great to see the players giving back to kids in need. In the grand scheme of things it is much more important that these players are becoming better people who will become great citizens, fathers, and figures in the community. I too would love to see a banners raised in Raleigh, but I am proud of our sports programs for by and large staying out of the public’s eye for the wrong reasons. Coach Dave Doeren seems to be doing a good job at helping each player obtain their degrees and becoming the best possible person they can be.

On the third day in the Queen City NC State players were split into two groups. One group was tasked with filling bags of food for children in need and the other went to the children’s hospital to help bring some smiles to those in a difficult situation. One thing that is great to see in the video below is that each player seems to be taking the service projects seriously and working hard to fill as many bags as possible in the given time.

The group that went to the hospital were well received as they helped each kid forget about their struggle for just a moment. I am sure that visiting each kid will have a lasting impact on those players that were lucky enough to attend. Sometimes people think that it is the players that are blessing these kids, but in reality the kids are a blessings in and of themselves. It is always humbling for anyone to give their time to visit those in need, especially athletes who have been so fortunate to have so many physical gifts.

NC State Football has done a great job of giving fans a front row seat with their YouTube channel; as they have posted great videos leading up to the Belk Bowl this Wednesday.
