David Grinnage Going Pro

The 6-5 265 pound tight end will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft this coming spring. Grinnage was pegged as a preseason candidate for the Mackey Award which is awarded to the top tight end in college. This past season Grinnage seemed to be under targeted as he only had 25 receptions for 290 yards, and three scores.

NC State really never utilized Grinnage properly this season as the junior had the ability and size to be a mismatch nightmare, especially in the end-zone. In my opinion the under utilization of talents like Grinnage is a reason State had to look elsewhere for an OC.

David Grinnage finished his career with 67 catches, 798 yards, and 9 touchdowns. I don’t blame Grinnage for leaving and wish him all the best as he tries to continue his career at the next level.
