NC State Football
Pack16: Incoming Recruits WR
NC State Football have been releasing videos of all the incoming freshmen via their YouTube channel. In each of these brief videos NC State gives some background on the player and then rolls some highlights throughout their High School career. This season’s class was ranked 49th nationally and 9th in the ACC. It will be interesting to see how many of these guys earn playing time.

Though I am a hard core Dukie, I would love to see State get someone really good like Sean Miller. Please, no Rick Barnes.
To me it seems quite apparent that Dr. Yow has her sights set on Miller…
If his salary is 2.1 million she’s gonna have to pony up to the 3 million dollar range plus take care of his assistants for him to make the jump…
If we come in with a 2.5 million offer Zona will just match it and we will get turned down…
I am sure that Dr. Yow realizes this…
NC State should NOT hire Rick Barnes. Don’t you remember him from Clemson? Despite the amazing talent he gets every year at Texas, he underachieves every time. He may make State better, but he will never win a National Championship or beat Roy and K regularly. He just doesn’t have it. Forget about Billy Donovan. Now Shaka Smart, maybe. In addition to being a good motivator and young, he can obviously coach and his teams are exciting to watch – something State has not had in a long time.
Good stuff thanks for the info. I would love to get Miller, I just don’t see Arizona letting him go. He would have to really hate it there for him to leave as I would imagine that Arizona would match whatever offer we gave him. He is starting to get them back to where they were in the 90s. I hope he hates those Desert summers as much as I did when I was there. As far as Barnes go, we couldn’t go wrong with him either. We’d just probably be in need of another coach in the next 10… Read more »
How about Jeff Capel, who I think is perhaps the most logical choice based on his NC roots and coaching pedigree (his father has coached forever and he played under Coack K).
How about no? We want a winner, not someone who is an average coach in the Big 12. I don’t care if a person has NC roots or not, I want a real good/great coach that will give their all to our school. NC roots should not be a prerequisite to coach at our school. Also, I don’t think that hiring a former Coach K player is the smartest of moves.
