Preview: NC State vs Notre Dame
The regular season comes to a close today as NC State faces Notre Dame. The game will be televised on CBS at noon. Coach Gottfried will need a much better effort from his group defensively if they are going to win their final regular season game. Notre Dame has plenty of scoring punch, as Mike Brey has a balanced offensive attack that features five players averaging double figures in points per game.
NC State has to be ready to defend the three-point line as the Irish will bomb away from deep. On the season they are shooting right at 37% as a team, but have plenty of guys who are capable of knocking down the three ball. Demetrius Jackson heads the attack scoring 15.9 points a game and dishing out a team leading 137 assists thus far. Not only does State need to be concerned about the perimeter but on the interior Zach Auguste is racking up double doubles like they are going out of style. In fact he has 17 on the season, his most recent being an 18 point 11 rebound effort versus Miami this past Wednesday.
The Wolfpack are going to have to be on their proverbial A game to walk out of South Bend with a victory today. Mike Brey and his Irish have won 9 of their last 10 Senior day games. Not only does Brey have a great record on Senior day but he has done a great job against the Tarheel State. Since the 2014-15 season Notre Dame is 10-1 against teams from North Carolina, State will need a complete effort and a big game from Cat Barber, but also a trifecta of help by Maverick Rowan, Caleb Martin, and Malik Abu. If Rowan and Martin knock down shots, and Abu matches Auguste then the Pack have a shot at finishing the season on a high note.

I I am usually very positive when it comes to the Wolfpack. But this has been a very disheartening season. I really don’t see anything with what we have coming in and what we possibly have leaving that says that we will have any better of a team next year than what we had this year. You can’t compete in the ACC with only a six or seven man rotation.

Kirk in for another 11 first half seconds. That will give him plenty of experience for next year as he sits on another team’s bench after transfer. Kirk, State loses one player and pick up three for next year, why not transfer. Show Gott he needs to treat freshman a little differently. We can’t build a program with transfers.
