Highlights: NC State Falls to Notre Dame

NC State could not get any stops as they fell to Notre Dame 89-75. It was Mike Brey who said that he decided to snap his team out of their scoring funk by practicing with a 20 second shot clock. Well it appeared to have work as they shot 50 percent from the field and had a big outing from freshman Matt Ryan, who scored 17 points off the bench. Not only was Ryan solid but Auguste had his 18th double double on the season, finishing with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

NC State had sound performances out of Cat Barber as he scored 29 points, and Abu who scored 20 points and added 12 boards. What it all comes down to is the Wolfpack are terrible on the defensive end. Something has got to change moving forward going into next year. Another area where the Pack have been hindered is the inconsistencies from Rowan. The freshman has potential but has been a roller coaster this season. I believe he will improve over the offseason and that this season should help him moving forward.

Caleb Martin looked good offensively as he poured in 16 points off the bench. Coach Gottfried must somehow get his team ready to get some stops on the defensive end heading into the ACC Tournament. A change in mindset needs to take place, and that means playing with complete desperation. That means selling out and playing with aggression, and trying to force as many mistakes as possible, pressing the whole game!

NC State will take the court at noon on Tuesday to face Wake Forest. The game can be seen on ESPN2, if the Pack win they will play the fifth seeded Duke Blue Devils at 2:30 on Wednesday.

Press the entire game.  Not possible using 6.5 men.  Even if we win against Wake, they will be too tired to play hard against Duke.  So, just give it up.  Try to get some bigs that have talent and be prepared for next year.
