Cat Barber’s Escape to Excellence

NC State Basketball just put out a cool video that showcases Cat Barber’s ascent from the rough streets of Newport News to the campus of NC State. There have been many stories about athletes using their respective sport as an outlet and way to reach heights that few have from their neighborhood. Cat Barber is no different; he has used basketball to give himself and his family a chance at a better life.

In the video below, Cat Barber opens up about his upbringing and how he has matured, not only on the court but off it as well. It is always good to see someone making the most of their opportunity. Cat Barber will look to continue his successful season tomorrow at noon as State plays Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament.
