Abu Testing Draft Waters…Don’t Panic

Cat declares for draft, the Martin twins transfer…and now Abu has declared for the draft as well.

Now, before you go looking for a cliff to jump off, make sure you remember that the ‘testing the waters’ rules have changed this year. Now players can declare for the draft, go to camps, do workouts, and as long as they don’t hire an agent, they can return.

So while this looks like more bad news, it’s honestly not. Abu is not in the top 100 overall and he simply needs another year in college to smooth out his game. He’s going to get his name out there, impress a few GMs and get on their radar for next season.

Aside from some very unforeseen circumstances, Abu will be NC State’s top option in the paint and could be one of the best bigs in the ACC next season.
