Back on July 1st 4-star 2017 wingman Charles O’Bannon Jr. trimmed his list to 8 schools, and now he has trimmed his list to 4 schools, and the Pack remains. Earlier this week we reported that O’Bannon had revealed 4 schools he would be taking official visits to, but now it is clear that these are in fact his final four schools.

Here is what he had to say to Scout’s Josh Gershon about each of his finalists.

UCLA: “With his dad having played there and winning a national championship everyone anticipated that UCLA will be in the mix and they are. Coach (Steve) Alford and staff have done a good job with him, not just because his dad went there but because he’s important to them.”
USC: “It starts with being on the West Coast. His father played at UCLA and mom and dad are both from that area. The style of play that coach Andy Enfield has installed is really intriguing to Chuck because he likes to get up and down.”
NC State: “Coach (Mark) Gottfried was an assistant when his dad played at UCLA so they have a long relationship there. They have been recruiting him for a couple years and have done a great job. Being in the ACC is intriguing as well.”
Texas: “They’ve probably recruited him the hardest over the last couple years. Coach (Shaka) Smart and his assistants have gotten after it and they’ve made it clear that Chuck is one of their top priorities and he’s really intrigued by that possibility.”

O’Bannon was offered a scholarship by the NC State coaches in July of 2015, unofficially visited Raleigh in August of last year, and will be taking his official to NC State on the weekend of October 21-23.
