Nike Releases LeBron Pink Kay Yow Shoes
Nike will be releasing their Zoom LeBron Soldier 10 “Kay Yow” shoes this Thursday, September 15th. Former NC State Women’s Basketball coach Kay Yow was extremely instrumental in raising awareness and leading the fight against Breast Cancer during her life. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is partnering with King James and his shoes, and the result is the shoe you see below.
The shoes will retail for $130.
The irony of these new kicks is that NC State will not be allowed to wear these shoes due to their contract with Adidas.
Idea.
What if NC State got to wear these shoes for one game to commemorate Yow, and some of the proceeds from that game went to a cancer foundation of Adidas’ choice. That way it brings cancer awareness, Nike gets a storyline behind this shoe with the school that Yow coached an Adidas gets of the PR play of giving the money to a cancer foundation…
Would that be a win/win for everyone?
