Obiagu spoke with Justin Young of HoopSeen yesterday and gave this reason for including the Wolfpack on his list.
NC State: “I don’t really know much about their basketball but I’ve met their coaches a couple of times. Hopefully, I can visit them…in October to see what they are all about.” (HoopSeen)
Scout ranks Obiagu as the #34 overall player in the 2017 class and 247Sports ranks him as the #4 center. The Wolfpack began recruiting him a year ago in September.
Obiagu plays for Greenforest Mccalep Christian Academy in Decatur, Georgia. He is from Nigeria, and moved here as a 9th grader. Volleyball was his first love, not basketball. Both involve a ball where you can jump up in the air and spike it, and Obiagu has applied the same technique to blocking all of his opponents shots.
Florida State is where he will commit.
