Former Wolfpacker CJ Williams was picked up by the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks today with a training camp deal.
CJ recently played for JDA Dijon Bourgongne in France. There he averaged 12 points and 3 boards, 1/5 assists and 1 steal per game. CJ has humped around over the past couple years playing in the D-League, in Cyprus and in Italy. Just a few months ago he played on the Spurs summer league team out in Vegas.
While at NC State Williams was a solid leader who’s fundamentals were second to none. I’m literally not sure we’ve seen a proper back cut since his days in Raleigh. He caught the ball in the triple threat position, boxed out and always hustled. He also had a silky little mid-range game as well. He averaged 10 points, 4 boards, 2 assists and 1 steal per game while playing for the Pack.
Good luck CJ!
