Former NC State quarterback Jacoby Brissett, entered the game for the Patriots on Sunday after Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a shoulder injury. Brissett was 6/9 for 92 yards in his NFL debut. The question was whether the Patriots were going to throw their rookie they drafted in the 3rd round into the game as the starter against the Texans on Thursday night, or would they go find someone off of the waiver wire.

Well, they have made up their mind, and there will officially be 3 former NC State quarterbacks starting in the NFL in week 3.

The coaching staff weren’t the only people impressed with Brissett’s performance on Sunday. Here is what a few of his teammates had to say.

“He came in and he handled it well,” wide receiver Julian Edelman said, via Phil Perry of CSNNE.com. “He’s a baby, and it’s just funny to see him in the huddle and stuff. I’m proud of him. He handled it real well. He made calls. He made the right run checks and all that stuff. I’m sure there’s more we could do better, but he came in, and Jacoby handled it like a professional.”

Obviously he has great ability to run and throw, but it’s his attitude,” safety Devin McCourty said. “When he’s out there on the look team he’s trying to make plays. He’s trying to have a good day out there. He’s not out there as a look-squad quarterback. Same thing similar to when Jimmy was out there. They’re out there trying to make plays, trying to get better as players and it gets us all better.” (Link)
