After Saturday’s 33-16 win over Wale Forest, Matt Dayes, Jaylen Samuels, Nyheim Hines, Bra’Lon Cherry, and A.J. Cole made moves in the NC State record books.

Matt Dayes (SR)

24 carries for 125 yards and 1 touchdown

-His 125 rushing yards moved his career total to 2,127. He passed Toney Baker to claim 12th place, and is now 62 yards behind Billy Ray Vickers in 11th place.

-Dayes has averaged 5.67 yards per carry throughout his career, which is the best average in NC State history.

-Dayes has 8 career 100-yard rushing performances, which ranks 9th. He is 1 100-yard games behind Shadrach Thornton and Stan Frits in 7th place. Dayes moved past Charlie Bowers this week.

-Dayes has 27 career rushing touchdowns, which ranks 5th on the all-time list. He is 3 touchdowns behind Ray Robinson in 4th place.

-He now has 33 total career touchdowns, moving him into a tie with Torry Holt for 4th all-time. He is 3 touchdowns behind T.A. McLendon in 3rd place. Dayes move passed Ray Robinson this week.

-Dayes’ 3,384 career all-purpose yards ranks 11th. He passed Nasrallah Worthen, T.A. McClendon, and Willie Burden this weekend. Dayes is 114 yards behind Andre Brown in 10th place.

Jaylen Samuels (JR)

-Samuels now has 25 career touchdowns, moving him into a tie with Tremayne Stephens for 7th all-time. He is 7 touchdowns behind Ray Robinson in 6th place. Samuels moved past Andre Brown and Gary Downs this week.

-Samuels now has 12 career touchdown receptions, which ties him with T.J. Graham, Jimmy Grissett, and Tramain Hall in 12th. Samuels moved past Tobais Palmer and Brian Clark this week. He is 1 touchdown away from Bryan Peterson and Bryan Underwood in 10th place.

-Samuels 91 career receptions tie him with Tobais Palmer for 21st all-time. He is 1 reception behind Bryan Underwood and Darrell Blackman in 20th place.

Nyheim Hines (SO)

3 kickoff returns for 55 yards

-Hines has 1,095 career kickoff return yards, which ranks 7th all-time. He is 35 yards behind Tobias Palmer in 6th place.

-Hines’ career kickoff return average of 24.9 ranks ties him with Anthony Barbour for 7th all time. He is .03 yards behind Mike Clark in 6th.

Bra’Lon Cherry (SR)

3 punt returns for 11 yards

-Cherry has 451 career punt return yards, which ranks 11th all-time. He is 3 yards behind Torry Holt in 10th place.

A.J. Cole III (SO)

4 punts for 218 yards.

-Cole’s career punt average of 42.7  yards ranks 2nd in school history. He is 1.3 yards behind Johnny Evans in 1st place. Cole passed Leslie Palmer and Kelly Hollodick this week.
