Jacoby Brissett Has Surgery On His Thumb

Published

The Boston Globe reports that former NC State quarterback Jacoby Brissett wasn’t at practice today because he was having surgery on his thumb. He injured his thumb during his first start, in which he led the Pats to a victory over the Texans. With the two quarterbacks ahead of him still unable to play, Brissett started this past week despite the injury, and the Patriots were shutout.

According to Adam Shefter, Brissett is being placed on the Injured Reserve as a result of the surgery.

In three games of action, Brissett was 34 0f 55 for 400 yards. He also rushed the ball 16 times for 83 yards and a touchdown. It’s unfortunate to watch Brissett go down like this during his rookie season, but at least he had the chance to show his coaches that he could win games at this level.
