Trea Turner and the Nationals Fall in Game 1

Published

on

Yesterday former NC State Shortstop Trea Turner and the Nationals tried to rally against the Dodgers in game 1 of the National League Divisional Series, but it wasn’t enough, falling 4-3. It was a duel of aces, but neither Clayton Kershaw or Max Sherzer pitched their best.

Turner, who had never faced Kershaw before, struck out swinging the first two times he faced him. Then in the 4th inning, Turner hit a sacrifice fly off of Kershaw to center field to score Severino to bring the Nationals within one run of the Dodgers. In his final two at bats, he took a walk from Joe Blanton, and then struck out swinging against closer Kenly Jansen with no outs and Bryce Harper and Jayson Werth coming up behind him. Harper flied out and Werth struck out and the rally came to an end.

The Nationals and the Dodgers will be back at it today at 4pm with the Dodgers Rich Hill facing off against the Nationals Tanner Roark. Tune in to FoxSports1 to cheer on Trea and the Nats.
