Dennis Smith on 2017 Bob Cousy Award Watch List

Every year, 20 players are selected in the preseason for the Bob Cousy Award watch list. The list consists of the top 20 PG’s for the upcoming year. Last years winner was Kentucky’s PG Tyler Ullis.

Dennis Smith is one of 5 players in the ACC and also one of 5 Freshman to make the list. Since its inception in 2003, no freshman has ever won the award.

Here is a list of everyone from the ACC, aside from Dennis, who also made the list:
Frank Jackson (Duke) who is also a freshman
Joel Berry (UNC)
London Perrantes (Virginia)
Seth Allen (Viriginia Tech).

While it is difficult to judge players who have yet to play a game of college basketball, it is an honor to be considered as one of the top guards and speaks volumes to what Dennis has done in his High School career.
