Nate Irving Tried Out For Jets Yesterday

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last night that former NC State linebacker Nate Irving tried out for the New York Jets yesterday.

Irving was expected to start at linebacker for the Colts heading into the season after signing a 3-year contract before the beginning of last season, but was cut before the season began. He has previously worked out for the Dolphins and the Cardinals this season. It is shocking to me that a player of Irving’s talent is still not on an NFL team yet.

Nasty Nate was a 1st team All American at linebacker in 2010 for the Wolfpack, and 1st Team All-ACC honors as well. His 39.5 career tackles for loss rank 7th in school history, and his 20.5 in 2010 are the 4th most in a single season.
