Sports Illustrated Ranks NC State 18th in Preseason Poll

Sports Illustrated did their preseason rankings of all #351 College Basketball teams, and NC State came in at #18.

They rank the Wolfpack’s offensive efficiency as 10th overall, and their defense as 80th. They pick the Wolfpack to finish 6th in the ACC, which lines up with the preseason prediction at ACC Media Day as well. The fact that NC State is picked to finish 6th in the conference, and earn a #5 seed in the NCAA tournament speaks to the confidence pundits have in the strength of the ACC this year.

They also had this to say about the NC State 2016-17 squad.

NC State (No. 18) has added as much key talent as anyone in the nation save for Kentucky and Duke, in freshman point guard Dennis Smith Jr. and power forward Omer Yurtseven, and back-from-injury senior shooting guard Terry Henderson.
