Trea Turner Rookie of the Year Finalist

Former NC State shortstop Trea Turner played in only 73 games last year, but what he managed to get done in that short span earned him a spot as a National League Rookie of the Year Finalist, alongside Corey Seager and Kenta Maeda of the Dodgers.

Turner hit .342, stole 33 bases, and clubbed 13 home runs in 73 games.  His year was truly historic. His 35 extra base hits and 33 steals in 73 games is unprecedented. The fastest rookie to attain those numbers was Barry Bonds, and it took him 113 games.

Turner’s rookie season was one for the MLB record books. Don’t believe me. Click here.
