Ted Kapita Won’t Travel to Paradise Jam

Published

on

NC State fans instantly fell in love with freshman Ted Kapita on Sunday in his collegiate debut, posting 17 points (7-8 FG) and 8 rebounds, but the Wolfpack fans won’t love the fact that he will not be making the trip to the Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam this weekend. Kapita, who already missed the season opener while the NCAA was still in the process of determining his eligibility, is unable to make the trip because the “Democratic Republic of Congo is “in the process of updating paperwork” required for him to travel outside the United States.”

Wolfpack fans will have to wait until they suit up against Loyola on November 26th to see the impressive freshman once again.

The competition isn’t stellar at the Paradise Jam, but with Kapita not traveling, and the status of Maverick Rowan (concussion) unknown, the Wolfpack will have to be sharp.

That sucks. This is not going to end well for the Pack. Needed his size and scoring inside.

We are still very capable of winning this thing.

I agree we should win this thing without question. But the problem is that Gott never has his team ready early in the season. Like the time we were ranked top 10 coming into the season and we went to an early season tourney and got spanked by Marcus Smart and Ok St. So us playing without Kapita is huge. You gonna rely on Anya to step up? You know better.

All I’m saying is that don’t be surprised if we struggle. It’s hard to know with a Gottfried coached team. My guess is that we either blow these games out or we lose games were supposed to win. I will have more confidence once everyone is qualified and the team has more time to gel.
