Rowan Returns: NC State should be getting Mav back on Saturday

NC State should be getting the sharp shooting Maverick Rowan back on Saturday when they take on Tennessee State.

Gottfried told the media that Mav has been practicing the past two days and he expects him to play. However, Rowan has been out for 3 weeks after suffering what must have been a pretty serious concussion. Three weeks of no basketball, is a long time, so just how good is he going to be?

“I think for him, when you sit out three weeks when you’re not doing anything at all because of the concussion protocol, it’s going to take him a little while to find his groove.”  Gottfried told the N&O.

Even a somewhat rusty Rowan is a welcome sight to this team as they’ve struggled to find any sort of real midrange game. Mav will definitely open up the floor and put pressure on opposing defenses with his ability to pull up from pretty much anywhere. With all the hype around Smith Jr, Dorn and Henderson, I think Rowan’s absence really showed just how much he bring to this ballclub. It will be nice to have him back.
