Cat Barber Signs with Italian Team

Cat Barber is leaving the D-League to go rake in those euros. He’ll be heading to Italy and playing with New Basket Enel Brindisi (yeah, that’s the team name).

Barber played last season in the NBA ‘G’ League (formerly known as the D-League before Gatorade paid some obscene amount of money to change the name) where he averaged 16pts, 5 assists, 3 boards and a steal per game. He actually shot it pretty well, coming in at 43%, but his 34% from 3pt range is what ended up hurting him.

Cat will likely play overseas for a while to hone his game before giving another push for the NBA. If he can approve his long range shooting, that might happen sooner rather than later. He’s a good defender, has a nice handle and really knows how to get in the lane, even at this level.

We’ll keep you updated on how he plays out there when the Italian league kicks off.

Meanwhile, check out a few highlights from his last season in the ‘G’ league. (Man, I hate saying that.)
