As expected, Derrick Eason Jr. has committed to NC State. He is a 3-star 2018 prospect (6’4, 240lbs) who was being targeted by NC State, ECU, Virginia Tech and Maryland along with 20 other schools.
Our recruiting analyst Matt Ritter had this to say:
Eason is undervalued and a huge pickup for NC State. Scout has him as the #1 strong-side Defensive End in the South region, but Rivals only has him as a 2 star DT. He will have to gain quite a bit of weight to play DT in college (he is around 240 now). We think he best projects as a strong-side DE in college because of his long frame, which could gain 30-40 pounds with ease.
We’ll have more on Derrick Eason Jr in the coming week, so stay tuned!
