Last week Braxton Beverly committed to NC State, and they were expecting to see him on the hardwoods this season, but according to the News & Observer’s Joe Giglio, the Wolfpack might have to wait until next year.

Beverly had already attended some classes at Ohio St. before he decided to leave last month, which would technically under NCAA rules could qualify as a transfer, and mandate sitting out 1 year before becoming eligible to play.

Wolfpack coach Kevin Keatts is hopeful there’s still a chance, under NCAA rules, Beverly could still play for the Wolfpack this season.

“Our compliance office is working through Braxton’s eligibility status,” Keatts wrote in a text message to the News & Observer on Monday. (N&O)

According to the Giglio, the process of determining Beverly’s eligibility could take a month or two.
