Carlos Rodon Stays On Fire Against Astros

Former NC State pitcher Carlos Rodon has officially caught fire. Last night the former Wolfpack ace gave up 2 earned runs over 8 innings, striking out 4 and walking none. Oh yeah, he did this against the first place Astros, and 70 of his 98 pitches went for strikes.

Three of Rodon’s last three starts have come against three of the best offenses in baseball:

Cleveland – 6.2 innings, 1 run, 9k
Boston – 7.2 innings, 2 runs, 11k
Houston – 8 innings, 2 runs, 4K

Carlos has been the epitome of consistency over his past three starts, striking out 24 batters, and only walking 2. The 8 inning performance was the longest he has pitched in a game all season, and he did it on only 98 pitches.

White Sox fans have been concerned with Rodon’s inconsistency over his first 3 seasons, but he has showed why he has what it takes to be face of their pitching staff over his past three starts.
