All of the players on the NC State football team have cast their votes, and the results are in. The Wolfpack will have 4 captains representing the team during the 2017 season: Bradley Chubb, Airius Moore, Cole Cook and Tony Adams.

Bradley Chubb (6’4″/275/Senior/Defensive End) is already one of the greatest defensive ends to play football at NC State, but by seasons end he could make an argument for being the best. Athlon named him a 2nd Team Preseason All-American heading into this season. Chubb recorded 22 tackles for loss as a Junior, which ranked 4th in the FBS. He could have left after his Junior season to enter the NFL draft, but returned because he had unfinished business to accomplish here at NC State. Chubb is projected to be a 1st round pick in next years NFL draft.

Airius Moore (6’0″/237/Senior/Linebacker) has played more career games (39) than any other player on the Wolfpack defense. Moore is the silent assassin of the NC State defense. Chubb and the rest of the D-Line get all of the attention, but Moore was 2nd on the team with 13.5 tackles for loss last season, and the 2nd best linebacker in the ACC according ProFootballFocus.

Tony Adams (6’2″/315/Senior/Offensive Guard) is the most experienced starter on the team (35 starts) and the most experienced player (2,472 snaps). As a Junior, Adams earned 2nd Team All-ACC honors. Adams is being projected as a 6th or 7th round in next years draft.

Cole Cook (6’6″/250/Senior/Tight End) doesn’t  have the flashy statistics that other tight ends in the ACC have, but you can take it to the bank that he is a better blocker than all of them. Cook basically has functioned as a 6th offensive lineman,  but it will be interesting to see if he gets more involved as a receiver this season.
