Carlos Rodon took the mound last night against the Dodgers, and he continued his recent streak of dominant pitching against the best pitching in baseball. Rodon pitched 7.1 innings in a no decision, giving up 2 earned runs, while striking out 4 batters.

Here is a look at what Rodon has done against 4 of the best offenses in baseball over his past 4 starts, in which his ERA has been a gaudy 2.12.

Boston- 7.2 IP 2 R 11 K
Houston- 8.0 IP 2 R 4 K
Los Angeles Dodgers- 7.1 IP 2 R 4 K

While White Sox manager Rick Renteria wasn’t happy to lose to the Dodgers via a walk-off hit from Yasiel Puig, he was impressed with Rodon’s outing.

“What a great outing,” said White Sox manager Rick Renteria on Rodon, who has a 2.35 ERA through three August starts. “We sent him back out there [for the eighth], and he did a nice job. We talked about it before: trying to throw strikes, trying to stay consistent, trying to locate things. He did a very nice job against a very good hitting ballclub.” (White Sox)

Rodon currently boasts a 1-4 record, a 4.00 ERA, and a 1.39 WHIP, but these stats have been on a steep decline over the past month, and he looks to continue their path downward in his next start against the Minnesota Twins next Monday, August 21st.
